OK I will start out by saying; thanks for dragging me out to the active flow, I have been both disappointed by lava flows and hiked over lava fields at night. So I was a bit skeptical about the whole thing. And my only other real regret was not bringing along more disks. But I guess that just means that I am dragging a bunch of my friends back out there to get more pictures.

But the real reason you came to this backwater webpage was for these pictures.

I took two of them in Kilauea Iki one of the clifs and this on is more a picture of the crater floor.

Down the road a bit farther I took got a picture of the sea arch.

Then the hour long hike out to the active flow. Where I took most of these pictures. I guess I will start this section thingy with my favorite of the lava pics. Its got some of the best colors and some orange. peals to. Then the other orange. picture.
Then there is the only picture I took that Katie and Julie. seemed to sneak into but since my camera as semi-low resolution and I think I was not quite still enough its a bit distorted.
I also liked the fingering. effect of this little bit of lava.
The rest of the lava pictures are neat but did not seem to stand out from each other.

The volcano also aided in these sunset pictures by adding vog to reflect light and other fun stuff.

I also included some pictures of the volcano I took from an airplane about 6 months ago.
The first three were taken at a low altitude looking toward the shore line.
